Transforming Business

The 2010 Wharton Business Technology Conference theme is Transforming Business. This theme will explore ways in which new technology paradigms such as social networks, cloud computing and cleantech are radically transforming the way businesses function and are giving rise to new business models.

Our conference aims to take an integrated business-technology perspective and explore some of these transformations. We will examine the new business models and product and service offerings emerging in the energy, financial services, and telecommunications sectors and their enabling technologies ranging from Software as a Service, mobile applications, and smart utilities management. As part of this conference, we will host one-on-one discussions and panel discussions with industry thought leaders—both technologists and business managers— to expose these new ideas and identify the strategies, capabilities, and technologies that organizations must develop to harness the challenges and opportunities of these new models.

This conference will also provide an invaluable opportunity for companies and industry professionals to network amongst themselves and with students seeking career opportunities at industry and theme-oriented luncheon tables, dedicated company information kiosks, and a cocktail reception at the end of the conference.
